Our CHC50221 Diploma of School Age Education and Care will train future educators, who are responsible for the day-to-day running of a regulated school age education and care service in Australia. They plan, implement and manage programs across all areas of service operations. They use specialised knowledge and analyse and apply theoretical concepts to diverse work situations. Educators have responsibility for the supervision of volunteers and/or other staff.
Educators in this context work in outside school hours care and vacation care.

There are no entry requirements for this course, however students are required to undertake the Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment and Pre -Training Review. This will assist to determine candidate’s suitability and relevance for the course and identification of any support required.
The ability to obtain a Working with Children Check – Working with Children Check & Police Check required for industry work placement.
The CHC50221 Diploma of School-Age Education and Care holds national recognition as a qualified and respected qualification.
To achieve this qualification the individual must have completed a total of at least 280 hours of work with school age children in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia. We can help you organise the work placement (working hours can be logged as placement hours for workplace students)
The duration of the School Age Education and Care diploma is 16 months.
